Founded in 1963, Cultural Vistas is a non-profit exchange organization promoting global understanding and collaboration among individuals and institutions. The Organization develops international professional experiences that create more informed, skilled, and engaged citizens. The Cultural Vistas programs empower people to drive positive change in themselves, their organizations, and society.
The organization also believes that sustained immersion in a country and language and professional experience, even more than travel or study abroad, promotes confidence and skills that create successful careers and nurture leaders, whether they are community activists or change agents at a global level.

ABOUT DEDAN KIMATHI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) is a Premier Technological University Excelling in Quality Education, Research and Technology Transfer for National Development that was established under the University’s Act 2012 by the Government of Kenya in December 2012. It is a public university that focuses exclusively on Technology.
DeKUT is a Chartered Public University that has two campuses: the Main Campus that is located 6 KM from Nyeri town along Nyeri- Nyahururu highway and Nairobi Campus located at Pension Towers, Loita Street. The location accords students of an enabling and serene learning environment. The Institution endeavors to provide an academically stimulating, culturally diverse and quality learning environment that fosters research, innovation and technology development towards producing relevant technical and managerial human resources and leaders to contribute to the attainment of national development goals.
The University offers a wide range of programs both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in various schools and institutes. There are 6 schools and seven institutes. These include Computer Science and Information Technology, Engineering, Applied Sciences, Food Science and Technology, Health Science, Business Management and Economics, Geothermal Energy Technology, Geomatics, Geospatial Information Systems, and Remote Sensing, Tourism and Hospitality, Technical and Professional Studies. The University also offers diploma and Certificate courses for mid-level technical skills. The programs offered by the University are approved by the Senate and the various designated bodies like Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and Commission for University Education (CUE) that was established by the government of Kenya through the Commission for University Education Act, 2010.
The University has also established 19 research centers to aid in research which include;DeKUT Technology and Innovation Support Centre (TISC), Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAIL), Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Management (CIEM), SIEMENS Centre, Centre for Biomass Energy, Centre for Geotechnical Engineering, Centre for Industrial Productivity & Engineering, Centre for Data Research and Cyber Security, Software Development Centre, Centre for Economic Policy Technology Development Studies, Centre for Development of Electronic Devices, Centre for Nano Materials & Nano Science Research, Centre for Coffee Technology, Centre for Food Safety, Centre for Water Resources Management, Centre for Excellence in Competence Based Education & Training and Centre for Excellence in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education.
DeKUT recognizes research as a pillar of both institutional and national development and its strategic focus is to provide technical education and create unique structures for research, innovations, extension and technology transfer. Thus, Research and Innovation, Linkages and Technology transfer are key result areas in the University’s Strategic Plan for 2014-2019. In line with this, the University is establishing a Science and Technology Park as per the Ministry of Education’s Master Plan for Science and Technology Parks in Kenya, the second of the kind will be established at Konza City. This new development will help build on the existing University Innovation and Incubation Hub (DeHUB) to a very great extent and take the University to a point of strength in living her Vision. Part of the STP is the DeKUT Kenya Film, Animation & Gaming Hub that is already functional and aims at providing a platform where young people and interested parties in creative art can use technology in film making and participate in digital media products that can be marketed widely.
