Kisumu Chapter Mentorship Program
The Kenya Alumni Engagement Programme organized and held the first mentorship programme at Kisumu Hotel(Maseno University). The mentorship targeted vulnerable youth(ages 13 to 25). The mentor was Ms. Mercy Mildred Adhaya a U.S. Government-funded programme (Community College Initiative Program) alumni.
Mombasa Chapter Mentorship Program
The Kenya Alumni Engagement Program organized a mentorship program in Mombasa for youths aged 13 to 25. The primary goal was to empower them with the relevant life skills needed in their day to day activities. Mr. David Ochieng, an alumnus from the US, served as the mentor.
Nairobi Chapter Mentorship Program
The Kenya Alumni Engagement Program held a mentorship programme at DeKUT Nairobi Campus to provide young people with skills in community participation and sensitive application. Mr. Nickson Oira, a US alumnus, served as the mentor.
Nakuru Chapter Mentorship Program
The Kenya Alumni Engagement project team organized a mentorship programme at Egerton University on 21st September 2021. Ms. Lucy Mathenge alumni of “Advancing Young Women Agribusiness Entrepreneurs and Innovators Fellowship was the facilitator and mentored the youth on how economic empowerment and informed them on the available opportunities.
DeKUT Chapter Mentorship Program
The Kenya Alumni Engagement Project held a mentorship programme at the University on 28th September 2021. The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Esther Magiri, officially opened the event The facilitators were Mr. Job Mwenda Mungania, Chairperson, Networking and Events at the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Alumni Chapter for Kenya and a Public Relations Officer at the Master Empowerment Center, and Ms. Christine Mweu, YALI Alumni and Investigator at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC). They mentored the students on economic empowerment, health, law and order. The facilitators took the students through the US Government-Funded Exchange Programmes and highlighted the application process. They encouraged the students to take up the opportunities and participate in the exchange programmes.
